Siaton, Negros Oriental
The Rice Bowl of Southern Negros
Siaton provides Negros Oriental visitors a refreshing encounter with nature, from beaches to a beautiful mountain lake that was created by landslide caused by an earthquake in the 1920s.
Siaton has the best of all worlds, the coastal areas feature beaches and diving, the inland areas are agricultural, while the mountanous areas are being reforested with fruit trees to provide an additional source of income to the residents.
Add to all these nature's gift of Lake Balanan, which is a community managed and protected resource, that has been offering tourists yet another reason to visit Siaton, which is just an hour away from Dumaguete City, the capital of Negros Oriental in the Philippines.

Antulang Beach
A strip of white pebble beaches between Zamboanguita and Siaton, interesting rock formations on beach, clear waters, underwater scenery ideal for snorkeling.
Bonbonon Point and Lagoon
A small gulf, about 15 hectares in area, a haven and sanctuary for motorboats usually caught at sea, is where most of the sailboats of foreign retirees to the Philippines are moored.
Tambobo Beach
Located along Bonbonon Bay, it’s a good site for windsurfing, scuba diving and sailing. Cottages are available amid the white-pebbled beach, with a restaurant to serve beach enthusiasts.
Lake Balanan
Lake Balanan is a wonderful gift from nature. Formed after a tectonic earthquake in 1925 caused a landslide that dammed the Balanan river forming a natural water reservoir that has a surface area of 25 hectares, 285 meters above sea level. A resort was constructed recently, to provide tourists with accommodations and recreational facilities for camping, boating, trekking and picnics. This resort also has a swimming pool with tree houses for rent and is located at Sandulot, Siaton, just 10km from the poblacion or town center.
INAGTA FESTIVAL, December 5
Living cultural material. Descendants of the Negros Oriental's dark-
skinned indigenes mime animals in ethnic movements performed in
front of an image of the patron saint and in front of the residents'
houses.
