Cultural Attractions of Negros Oriental, Philippines
Dumaguete City showcases all the cultural attractions of Negros Oriental with museums that contain artifacts from pre-Spanish colonization era of the Philippines of the islands original inhabitants as well as theaters and art galleries that feature performance and visual artists.
The schools of Dumaguete, Silliman University, Saint Paul College and Foundation University are the curators of Negros Oriental culture.
A recent addition to is the Sidlakang Negros Village, which gives each visitor a preview of the different attractions, products and culture of each city and town of Negros Oriental, which features individual pavilions and showrooms in a landscaped promenade with a main outdoor stage where the Buglasang Festival of Festivals was held in 2008.

Center for Culture & Arts
It is not at all surprising how the City of Gentle People would be the natural creative center of the province as, apart from being the capital, it is also a university town where all the bright young minds are guided by the guardians of Negros Oriental culture and traditions.

Fleur-de-Lis Hall
Housed in St. Paul College Dumaguete, Fleur-de-lis Hall is a multi-purpose hall that provides bigger seating and stage for the cultural presentations and lavish theatrical productions that is a trademark of all Saint Paul schools in the Philippines.
Luce Auditorium
Silliman University’s modern cultural center is a fully-airconditioned venue for local and international performing artists, also houses a ballet studio, and a spacious lobby for exhibits.
Mariyah Gallery
It is the central venue of Negros Oriental visual artists with an extensive inventory of books of Filipino authors that is also found at there.
Sidlakang Negros Village
Created to promote each area of the province, it is the arts and crafts hub of Negros Oriental, featuring a main pavilion with shops, a furniture exhibit area and an art gallery.
Enter each town or city pavilion to see their different products, marble and stoneware from Bacong or even try with famous bodbod of Tanjay with native chocolate.
Its main pavilion is Sidlakang Negros Showroom, a display of handicraft, furniture and souvenir products, operated by the Negros Oriental Entrepreneurs Association (NOREA)
Sinco Memorabilia Museum
Established in 1949 by Dr. Vicente Sinco, a Filipino signatory to the United Nations Charter, as his obra maestra (masterpiece), the museum, which is located at Foundation University, is the repository of his works and personal effects.
This museum also houses an exhibit of objects d’art and the crude implements of the island's early inhabitants.
Silliman University Ethno-Anthro Museum
An exhibit of artifacts and archeological findings, some dating 2,000 years and an ethnographic collection from minority tribes in the Philippines.
Silliman Hall is in itself a cultural relic of turn of the century America, having been an old New York Theater building that was transported to Dumaguete and reconstructed in toto early in the 20th Century as the first buildng of the fledgling school founded by Davis Hibbard.
