Siquijor Beaches

The island shoreline is wrapped in white sand beaches, some of which may be accessed via private beach resorts and a lot of which are just public beaches for everyone to enjoy. Additionally Siquijor's coast is lined with magroves, coral, fishes and other water life, which makes it an excellent attraction for diving enthusiasts.

Capilay Spring

A natural spring converted into a swimming pool located in the town of San Juan. Many locals use the cool water for a swim or enjoy the shade of the spring park for a picnic.

Cantabon Cave

Being the most famous of Siquijor's over 45 caves, Cantabon cave's long, winding and difficult trek is both a challenge and a delight to any spelunker. Inside the cave a subterranean stream and beautiful stalactites and stalagmites abound in its huge chambers.

Camp Bandilaan Nature Park

This preserved rainforest is home to numerous and diverse endemic fauna and flora, several caves and natural springs. Other attractions include a shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes and The Way of the Cross going up to the top of the mountain.

Tulapos Marine Sanctuary

Being the biggest of the several marine sanctuaries in Siquijor, Tulapos Marine Sanctuary features an abundant species of fish, corals and other underwater life. A two-storey mangrove tree house provides a view over the sea and the shoreline.

Cambugahay Falls

Cambugahay Falls is the only enchanted falls in the Island. See its several levels of waterfalls and enjoy its cool and refreshing waters. Secluded and relatively unexplored, the waterfalls surely invite trekkers for a refreshing dip.

Lazi Convent

Constructed by the Spaniards in 1884 the Lazi Convent is assumed to be the biggest and the oldest in whole of Asia. It is believed to have been the vacation house for the Diocese's priests at that time.

Being a traditional marriage ritual the Solili Dances serves as one of the highlights of the week-long Siquijor Charter Day celebration.

How to Get to Siquijor

from Dumaguete City

To get there, one will take a fast ferry from the Dumaguete Port Area in Looc, which is at the edge of the Boulevard on the waterfront. The ride costs Php160-200 per person plus a port terminal fee of Php15.00 each.

You may also buy your tickets a day or two ahead. The ticketing booths usually close at 8:00 p.m. on weekdays.

There are two entry points to Siquijor.Island, the port at the municipality of Siquijor and the port at Larena. If you are heading towards San Juan, where the many beach resorts are located, take the boat that goes to Siquijor town.

Siquijor may be visited via a day trip from Dumaguete City, or one may prefer to book a stay overnight in one of its private resorts to be able to enjoy the many the attractions that the island province has in store for visitors.

The whole island can be toured in just one day by renting a motorbike (about Php25/hour), or having a motorcab or tricycle (a motorcycle with a cab that can take up to five passengers) take you around for about Php800/day. Across the water, in nearby Dumaguete City, they refer to it as a multicab.
