The Home of Dolphin Watching in the Philippines
Bais City is just 45 minutes away from Dumaguete, the capital city of Negros Oriental province in the Philippines. And it is visited by many folks for its premier attraction -- Dolphin and Whale Watching.
As the locals will tell you, dolphins and whales have been swimming the waters off Bais for as long as they can remember and it is only recently that getting to see the dolphins and pygmy sperm whales has become popular activity, attracting local and foreign visitors alike
Other places of interest this location are the historical Central Azucarera de Bais where one can find the Balwain Locomotive is, as well as beaches and a mangrove park.

Dolphin & Whale Watching
Out of 23 species of marine mammals documented to have been sighted in Philippine waters, 9 have been sighted in Bais Bay-Tañon Strait area, acknowledged to have one of the biggest concentrations of cetaceans in the world. Bais City offers a government-run cruise
Central Azucarera de Bais (CAB)
Established in 1918 as the first two sugar centrals of Tabacalera in the country, pioneered in the manufacture of paper from bagasse. CAB propelled the province’s sugar industry into a top dollar earner. Buildings, early machines, implements and locomotives used for hauling sugarcane in olden times are on display, making the visit truly informative and interesting.
Baldwin Locomotive
The Baldwin locomotive rests on memories of its heyday as the dean of the hacienda workhorses. The Central Azucarera de Bais was established in 1918 and the Baldwin locomotive was integral in the stimulation of the growth of Negros Oriental sugar industry.
Lag-it Beach
A magnificent seven kilometer stretch of powder-white sand that disappears in the clear waters at high tide, a unique adventure for swimmers.
White SandBar Reef
Its shoreline is a vast stretch of powder-white sand that disappears at high tide, leaving sparkling azure waters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling
Talabong Mangrove Park
A 400-hectare protected mangrove forest which is a natural habitat and nesting place of birds and other wildlife. Talabong Mangrove Park is accessible by boat at hight tide and visitors have to walk through a 5,968 split-bamboo boardwalk before reaching the park.

Bais City is a short 45-minute drive from Dumaguete City along the coastal highway.
By public transportation, take a jeepney that plies the Dumaguete-Bais route (Php15.00).
